I think the best thing I have seen for this is Hear Harmony series by Rachelle Randeen. It is a great “plug and play” tool because you can hand them the CDs and they can listen to them and learn. Here is an online review and info on them. http://www.kimgentes.com/musician-resources-reviews/2011/1/1/hear-harmony-series-rachelle-randeen-2004.html

I have a young singer at our church with a wonderful voice and a great heart. I’ve been working with her a bit on playing guitar, leading a band, etc. But I’m struggling to find a good resource to help her learn to sing harmony. Does anyone have a recommendation for me?

Been co-leading with my Dad for 20 years. Makes me sound old, but I started young. He does most vocals since I do everything else, but it’s just the 2 of us. We have two worship teams at our church which alternate Sundays leading worship. I sing with one of those groups – I was born to hear harmony, so I sing whatever is needed to fill in the gaps – alto, tenor, the bass line an octave higher. I’m the oldest person on either of the […]

I am a backup singer for one of the worship teams during the “big church” services, but I also lead worship in my women’s care group and for some of our women’s events. My primary instrument is my voice however I am working on improving my guitar playing skills. I had a band a few […]

I am a worship leader and also a background vocalist. I enjoy what I do and I am here to learn how to become a better worship leader. To tell you the truth I always say I am not a great singer, but I am a worshipper. I have a soulful voice ( I usually sing alto and tenor)

My influences have always been sort of organic, I am a hound for local musicians and my vocal style often incorporates whatever sounds I hear that move me. I can’t put down one type of music but I have been influenced by everyone from James Taylor and Kevin Prosch to the Indigo Girls, Madness and Incubus (I even enjoy southern gospel, rock-a-billy…[Read more]
